Troubleshooting and FAQs

This article will go over some FAQs

What are the benefits of using the BrainTap headset?

BrainTap is proven to reduce stress and improve sleep quality. Additionally, our users report experiencing improved clarity and more energy as a result of braintapping. Please be aware that while the BrainTap headset is designed to help you reach your full potential, we cannot guarantee your results. Please understand that results will vary from person to person.

Is using the BrainTap headset safe?

Absolutely. However, flashing lights have been known to cause problems in people who suffer from serious medical conditions like epilepsy, seizure disorders, brain injury, or photosensitivity. If you have any of these concerns, you should ask your medical professional if light and sound technology is right for you.

Why is the headset not functioning when connected to Bluetooth?

Check your audio device and be sure that you see the BrainTap headset listed under connected Bluetooth devices. If you do not see it, turn the Bluetooth on your audio device off and back on again, and re-pair it.

If there is no volume coming from the headset or your audio device, the headset may be paired with another Bluetooth device and needs to be unpaired from that device to successfully connect with a new one. Turn off Bluetooth connections to any additional devices you may have used to listen to BrainTap and then do a fresh pairing with your current device.

If there is no volume coming from the headset, but you can hear audio on your phone or tablet, it means you did not pair the devices successfully and you will need to re-pair the devices.

Why do my ears get warm when using the headset?

When you use the BrainTap headset the cerebral blood flow increases and causes the ears to get red or warm. No heat is coming from the lights themselves and there is no danger to you when this occurs.

Why is the sound distorted or fuzzy through the headset when playing an audio session?

If you are using a wired connection via an aux cable, try making sure the cable is firmly ported on both sides.

If you are connected via Bluetooth, ensure that you are within five feet of your audio device for the best quality. If you’re still having issues, completely unpair your headset from the device and do a fresh re-pair by going to your device’s Bluetooth settings and selecting “Forget This Connection” and then re-pairing the devices.

Why is the headset not charging properly or not holding a charge as long as expected?

With a full charge (the charging indicator light is green), your BrainTap headset should stay charged through 15-20 sessions. This may vary slightly when using the Bluetooth connection as opposed to the audio cords.

If the charge indicator light does not come on at all, check your charging cable and ensure it is not damaged or frayed. Please use the provided power cube and USB-C charging cable to charge your device.

If your headset still does not charge properly, contact the Customer Success Team at braintap.com/contact for more assistance.

Why are the visor lights only functioning on one side or not functioning at all?

Be sure the volume on your audio device is turned up to at least 70% of the maximum volume to activate the visor lights. For more information, visit the Light and Volume Control section of this manual.

If you are using the aux cable, make sure the cable is firmly pushed in on both sides. Try swapping ends to ensure a good connection.

Can I use the BrainTap headset with other audio outside the BrainTap Pro app?

The BrainTap Headset is specially designed to work with the audio within our app. When used with other audio it would function as a regular pair of headphones.
